At Creek’s Edge, we believe every Newfoundland should be given the opportunity to fulfill the remarkable potential of this extraordinary breed. Our plan for Shilo is to continue developing her as a beautiful, sound, and versatile Newfoundland while honoring the outstanding lineage from which she comes.

Shilo will begin her journey in the AKC Conformation ring, where she will compete with the goal of earning her AKC Champion title. This journey continues the proud tradition of excellence found throughout her pedigree, including her sire, AKC Champion Ozark Legends Opium at Windancer (“Opie”). Through careful development, training, and presentation, we hope Shilo will become another champion representing the quality, structure, and temperament we strive to preserve at Creek’s Edge.

Beyond the show ring, Shilo will be trained to embrace the working heritage of the Newfoundland breed. She will begin training in water rescue, developing the natural instincts, strength, confidence, and willingness to serve that have made Newfoundlands legendary water rescue dogs.

In addition, Shilo will begin training toward becoming a service dog, allowing her gentle nature, intelligence, and loyalty to be used in helping others. The Newfoundland has long been recognized not only for its beauty, but also for its dependable temperament and desire to serve.

Our vision for Shilo is not only to preserve the beauty and history of the Newfoundland breed, but also to celebrate the heart of the Newfoundland — a devoted companion with the ability and desire to serve. We look forward to sharing Shilo’s journey as she grows into the exceptional Newfoundland we believe she can become.
